Biography
I’m a Ghanian – Italian PhD student in International and European law at the Angelo Sraffa law department at Bocconi University. I’m currently developing a research project on European Economic Statecraft focusing on the unilateral turn of EU trade policy. In specifics, I’m assessing how the current competition on frontier technologies poised the EU to adopt unilateral trade tools (Export-control laws, industrial policy, FDI screening mechanisms, easing of State Aid rules and Anti-Coercion Instrument) and how can the bloc balance it between economic security, competitiveness, and the overarching framework of the single market principles.
I’ have gained experience working as a Consultant at The World Bank Group (IFC and World Bank), and as a researcher at Fondazione Astrid (LED Laboratorio per l’Ecosistema Digitale). I worked as a trainee at the Presidenza del Consiglio (Italian Government) – DAGL and at the European Parliament – DGITEC. I’m a Member of the Board of Advisors, Affiliated Member and Researcher of the Berkeley Center on Comparative Equality Law at the University of California, Berkeley. I gained international studying and working experiences and I have been exposed to international settings having lived in seven countries and three continents. I was a student of Collegi di Merito Honours Program by the Italian Ministry of Education and a recepient of awards and scholarships winner. I’m multilingual fluent in four European languages and two African languages.
